Quotes..

Our religious activities should be ordered in such a way as to have plenty of time for the cultivation of the fruits of solitude and silence.

A real Christian in an odd number anyway. He feels supreme love for One whom he has never seen, talks familiarly every day to Someone he cannot see, expects to go to heaven on the virtue of Another, empties himself in order to be full, admits he is wrong so he can be declared right, goes down in order to get up, is strongest when he is weakest, richest when he is poorest, and happiest when he feels worst. He dies so he can live, forsakes in order to have, gives away so he can keep, sees the invisible, hears the inaudible, and knows that which passes knowledge.

And what kind of habitation pleases God? What must our natures be like before he can feel at home within us? He asks nothing but a pure heart and a single mind. He asks no rich paneling, no rugs from the Orient, no art treasures from afar. He desires but sincerity, transparency, humility, and love. He will see to the rest.
A. W. Tozer

All the great temptations appear first in the region of the mind and can be fought and conquered there. We have been given the power to close the door of the mind. We can lose this power through disuse or increase it by use, by the daily discipline of the inner man in things which seem small and by reliance upon the word of the Spirit of truth. It is God that worketh in you, both to will and to do of His good pleasure. It is as though He said, 'Learn to live in your will, not in your feelings.'
Amy Carmichael

If we could only see the heart of the Father, we would be drawn into praise and thanksgiving more often. It is easy for us to think that God is so majestic and so highly exalted that our adoration makes no difference to him. Our God is not made of stone. His heart is the most sensitive and tender of all. No act goes unnoticed, no matter how insignificant or small. A cup of cold water is enough to put tears in the eyes of God. God celebrates our feeble expressions of gratitude.

Prayer involves transformed passions. In prayer, real prayer, we begin to think God's thoughts after Him: to desire the things He desires, to love the things He loves, to will the things He wills.
Richard J. Foster

I have learned that much of my spiritual progress does not come directly from God, but through my ability to humble myself and hear Him speak through imperfect people. In fact, I have discovered that it pleases Him to hide His manifold wisdom in a variety of people and denominational perspectives. I know that the more I humble myself to others, the broader my understanding of God has actually become.
Francis Frangipane

God must be sought and seen in His providences; it is not our actions in themselves considered which please Him, but the spirit in which they are done, more especially the constant ready obedience to every discovery of His will, even in the minutest things, and with such a suppleness and flexibility of mind as not to adhere to anything, but to turn and move in any direction where He shall call.
Madame Jeanne Guyon

The valley of the shadow of death holds no darkness for the child of God. There must be light, else there could be no shadow. Jesus is the light. He has overcome death.
Dwight L Moody

I am

Oh, gently lay your head
Upon My chest
And I will comfort you like a Mother while you rest.
The tide can change so fast
But I will stay
The same through Past, the same in Future,
Same Today.

Oh, weary, tired and worn
Let out your sighs
And drop that heavy load you hold
Cuz Mine is light.
I know you through and through
There's no need to hide.
I want to show you love that is deep and high and wide.

For I am constant.
I am near.
I am peace that shatters all your secret fears.
I am holy.
I am wise.
I'm the only One, who knows your heart's desires.

Oh, gently lay your head upon My chest
And I will comfort you like a Mother
While you rest

We are..

We are strangers on a distant journey pilgrims faceless sojourners nameless unsung and unseen goliards gypsies of another realmvaga bonds trekking through the wilderness across deserts, traveling a narrow path.
We are a field of expensive pearls a guild of minstrels clothed in brown camel's hairburning blue flames with our arms stretched out toward heaven.
We are lovers enamored with the fragrance of divine communion...
We are the unforsaken abandoned sleeping in caves of solitude gazing beyond this earth into the heart of the Most Holy One.
We are the dawning mystical sunrise of a new creation locked in silver-faced romance we are the shimmering reflection upon sparkling rivers of healing..
We are the outcast ragamuffin scarecrows..
We are the slaves of true freedom bondservants of liberty..
We are the awe-stricken fools of God drunken with intoxicating blisss taggering with ecstatic belongin grecklessly shattering all that infringes upon our union..
We are children of the promise cherished, transfigured carriers of lightglowing embers..
We are nobodies from nowhere representing somebody from everywhere..

From somebody...

Intrercessory Prayer

You cannot truly intercede through prayer if you do not believe in the reality of redemption. Instead, you will simply be turning intercession into useless sympathy for others, which will serve only to increase the contentment they have for remaining out of touch with God. True intercession involves bringing the person, or the circumstance that seems to be crashing in on you, before God, until you are changed by His attitude toward that person or circumstance. Intercession means to "fill up...(with) what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ" (Col. 1:24), and this is precisely why there are so few intercessors. People describe intercession by saying, "It is putting yourself in someone else's place'. That is not true! Intercession is putting yourself in God's place; it is having His mind and His prespective. Our work is to be in such close contact with God that we may have His mind about everything...intercession is the only thing that has no drawbacks, because it keeps our relationship completely open with God! When we pray on the basis of redemption, God creates something He can create in no other way than through intercessory prayer.
